After 3 seasons HNTM and 2 seasons BNTM hosted by Daphne Deckers, Anouk Smulders took over the role as a host. It was a decent season. However, I do think the concept of this season would have turned out much better with a different cast, because it felt a bit flat this season. After season 5's incredible cast it was a let-down. I think it's one of the weaker casts HNTM had and Holland can do better. They had some interesting faces, but almost all were either too short, too bland or didn't have the right proportions,
Though they did a lot to make the girls shine, which was cool to see. The quality of shoots were great and the whole cycle was quite believable for a modeling contest. I loved how they did their best to make the girls shine in most shoots, but still gave lots of variation. The traveling around Europe concept and doing themed shoots about that country was just cool. The main thing I didn't like about this season is that it wasn't really watchable: girls were a bit boring for reality tv (or edited that way) and I don't think the producers created an entertaining touch like previous cycle but instead they added too many NTM clichés like calling home 3 times, shoots in height, etc. I also didn't like the weird new judging style and the elimination order. The top 3 was okay, but too commercial and there were some undeserved elimination throughout the season.
THE VERDICT:
Decent season with consistently good shoots/challenges, but lacking excitement.
