Season 8 was a crappy season, I think I can even say it was the absolute worst season because it's the only season that succeed in failing on every aspect. The cast was a disappointing one to begin with. I don't think it beats season 3's cast in being the absolute worst, but because HNTM is always pretty strong in casting it was just weak in comparison with the rest. The wildcard, that gave us incredible girls last years (Daelorian and Sanne), was a total let-down and delivered the worst contestant of the cast . The rest was just not fresh or current looking at all. A lot of outdated or just not modelesque girls.
Though it wasn't a horrible cast, I think with this cast they could have easily made a decent season if they didn't mess up everything else. But they did. At first they destroyed every bit of potential the girls had with a lot maturing and awkward haircuts which made the cast look worse than it already was. Also the judges, who they didn't change from last season, were crap. They eliminated the only 2 girls who seemed to have a bright market in modeling before the finale and so we ended with a mediocre top 4. Everything was scripted as f*ck for Loiza to take the crown as first transgender. Don't get me wrong, I like Loiza who is an awesome rolemodel and proves herself post-show to be a deserved winner, but it made this season so boring to look at because (again) everything was way too predictable and comments on the other models were obviously made for their set-up elimination. It just wasn't a fair modeling competition. The shoots sucked the same way like last season. Also the challenges were too much about acting/personality instead of modeling. Talking about the entertainment value it was a bit the same as last 2 seasons: boring scripted reality clichés. Gotta say they did have some characters this season that made it a bit more fun, but for some reason it all fell flat towards the end.
THE VERDICT:
The worst season.
