After 4 quite disappointing seasons with Anouk Smulders as a host, it was time for a revamp. They got a new panel with Anna Nooshin as host, Nigel Barker, Kim Feenstra (C2 winner) and Jean Paul Paula plus they went co-ed. After years they finally succeed again by delivering a good season. The cast was great. I love the difference of personalities. They had every type of personality a cast needs: gayboy, the classclown, the bullied one, the bitchy girl, the hot dude, the weirdo... Even without all the psycho bitchfights we used to have in the early seasons they delivered entertainment wise and probably had the best ratings out of all seasons. Not only entertainment wise, but also potential wise they did a great job at casting. I mean look at how current/refreshing/versatile this group of models looks.
The top 5 was excellent as well. The winner was a little one note and maybe not my first choice but I loved him and he had a great look for sure. The editing and judging style was also really professional and refreshing. The shoots were good and I liked the variety in it, but I have to say there was some 'oomph' missing in the results while they had great shoot concepts. Some of them were just a bit underwhelming but at least we got some of the simplicity and quality back and as a whole there were still some awesome shots produced by this season. I just wish they did an Elle covershoot in the end as final shoot and that the presentation of the live finale was less messy + no public voting, so that we could have finished this season with more satisfied feeling like we had in season 1 or 5. I also didn't like that they had so many double eliminations.
THE VERDICT:
Except for some little flaws the season that proves revamps can be succesful.
